• Overview of Ministry in Moldova

Moldova is a country with:

  • over 3.5 million people
  • more than 1 million working abroad
  • 2% evangelical Christians
  • a 55% divorce ratio

Cru Moldova

We have 65 full-time national staff members who faithfully spread the Gospel to students, teachers, professional sportsmen, families, and young professionals. Additionally, we assist churches in building spiritual movements and reaching Moldova for Christ.

Some exciting things about ministry in Moldova:

  1. Most of our staff members are university graduates who have already received two to four years of ministry training.
  2. The people in Moldova are more open to the Gospel than ever before, as atheistic communism has left a spiritual vacuum in the country.
  3. Cru has a proven track record of effective ministry in Moldova since 1995, when just 2 full-time staff members started the ministry. Over the past 25 years, many staff and volunteers have committed themselves to evangelism and discipleship.
  4. Almost everybody in Moldova speaks Romanian and Russian. This provides a great opportunity for Moldovan missionaries to go to Russia and spread the Gospel. In 2003, our first missionary went to Voronej to start a ministry among students. From 2009 to 2017, a team of 5 missionaries served in Ufa, Russia (a Muslim region). Currently, Cru sends teams for short mission trips to different cities in Russia every year. Since 2015, we have a couple who serve in Hungary at the Area level. We are still open to raising, training, and sending missionaries to other countries, especially to Russia.
  5. In order to stay in touch with our ministry partners, we, as Cru staff, will send you a prayer letter every six weeks. This way, you can know how God is working in our ministry and stay informed about our current prayer needs. Regular updates will help you understand not only what to pray about but also how your investment is changing people’s lives.

Thank you very much for considering being part of spreading the Gospel in Moldova!
